“Hey Teacher…Hannah’s Story” Podcast About Reading Problems is Available to You.
Earlier this year I recorded two mp3 interviews about reading difficulties. I called the series: “Hey Teacher, My Child Can’t Read: Hannah’s Story” The interviews are available for download or listening at http://www.deangeyer.podomatic.com and also itunes.
The first person I interviewed was my 12 year old daughter Hannah. We talked for 37 minutes about her reading challenge. Hannah described what it was like to be the worst reader in her class. We talked about the 4 years she spent with her reading specialist. And we also talked about her new life as an honor roll student. At the end of the interview we answered questions from our audience on the phone and online. The podcast has been downloaded hundreds of times by people around the globe.
The second interview was with Hannah’s reading specialist, Kaye McFadden. She went into great detail about Hannah’s reading difficulty. She also outlined an action plan for parents of children with reading/learning challenges. Part 1 of that interview is also available at Podomatic and itunes. The information from that 63 minute interview will soon be available in it’s entirety as well as transcripts of the interview.
